Our public schools have suffered dramatically with Republicans controlling the legislature. With ESA vouchers being used to send students to private schools, there must be accountability for stripping away money from public schools. We must rein in this out-of-control spending and instead invest in our public schools to pay our teachers and support staff a livable wage, to help our students succeed.

We have seen the fundamental right to abortion come under attack in Arizona and the rest of the country. As a mother, I firmly believe that these decisions should be solely made between women and their doctors. If elected, I will fight to ensure that no politician has a hand in medical decisions. With a Democratic majority in the legislature, we will protect all reproductive healthcare as well as access to abortion.

Arizona is currently experiencing a 20-year drought with no clear sustainable plan for the future of our water. We must begin water conservation efforts, invest in new technology, and hold out-of-state developers accountable to ensure that our state is safe and habitable for generations to come.

Keeping our families and neighborhoods safe is at the top of our minds and I fully support and thank our local law enforcement’s efforts in doing just that. However, I know that more can be done. We must enact stronger gun safety measures to keep our kids safe.
